In the thesis emphasis is placed on stress in general, but also on the stress in the profession of nurses. The main pillar of the thesis is a qualitative research on the stress acting on the nurses and their coping strategies. Research was attended by six nurses, three from the surgical and the eye department of an unnamed large university hospital.
